Virtual Locker:
Since we were not able to create custom logbook covers or use our lockers this year due to the pandemic, we created virtual lockers to start off the school year! Using Google Slides, I created a locker that reflected my personality and interests. I included a New York Rangers shirt, a longboard, a field hockey stick, oatmeal (of course), iced coffee, and more.

Careers in IM Project: Screenwriter

Our first real project of the 2020-2021 school year was to create a Prezi on a career in Interactive Media. I chose to research a screenwriter. My presentation explains what a screenwriter does, their salary, what schools you can attend for screenwriting, and more! Click the link to the left to watch my Prezi!

Career Promo Video for Screenwriting

Using the information we researched for our Career Prezi, we then made Career Promo Videos. Our Career Promos are similar to a commercial, where you advertise the job and give appealing information about it. I used the iPhone apps of iMovie and Videostar to edit my Promo on screenwriting!

2D Animated Movie: "The Rise and Fall of Christmas Spirit...and the Snowman"

Music Video: "come out and play" by Billie Eilish

My 2D Animated Movie was made using paper drawings of characters from the television show South Park, paper sets which I drew on, and a few cotton balls to add a snowy effect in 2D. I took hundreds of individual pictures to create this stop motion style short film, and edited them using the apps iMovie and Videostar, as well as some help from Flixr. The movie features three main characters who turn into Christmas grinches after drinking some questionable hot chocolate. One of the hardest tasks with this project was one I gave myself, which was to not use dialogue, only noises and sound effects!

I chose the song "come out and play" for my IM2 Music Video project. Although my music video didn't come out as I had originally hoped, I am proud of what I was able to do without any people in it. I used colorings and effects in the app Videostar to create the cool visuals I had planned. This song has always been one of my favorites and seemed perfect during the time I created this video - the cozy, snowy winter season.

PSA: The Do's and Don'ts of COVID-19

For my COVID-19 PSA, I created a 2 minute video about the "Do's and Don'ts" of the virus. For example, one of my three "Do's" was to wash your hands, and one of my three "Don'ts" was to avoid large gatherings. I used my typical editing apps of Videostar and iMovie on my phone. I challenged myself by creating my own green screen overlay (the 6 feet line slowly loading).

2-in-1 Informational Video

My 2-in-1 Informational Video includes my Covid PSA and then goes into how I created it. I included screen-recordings of how I edited on both iMovie and Videostar and how I "downloaded" background sounds/music. This video was created to show the difficulties of editing at home on my small phone screen, as well as how different it is to edit not on a school computer where I would normally be using Adobe software.

Photoshop: Animal
Jump-Out

Using the website Pixlr, we created many photoshop projects without the real software. The first project was a Jump-Out with an animal. I used a picture of a corgi, since it is my favorite animal, and followed each step to try and create a Jump-Out effect. It was difficult but also new and fun for us to do at home.

Photoshop: Person
Jump-Out

While we did our animal Jump-Outs, we also worked on a person version of the Jump-Out. I chose Harry Styles after being inspired by his latest Vogue photoshoot. I wanted to make it appear as if he were jumping out of the grey-blue frame below him. I worked hard on it while still having fun and learning how to better use Pixlr.

Photoshop: Vacation
Time - Body

Still using the website Pixlr, we created Vacation Time photoshops of us in our ideal vacation spot. For the body version, I put myself in with a family skiing. I tried to make the different lightings blend using brightness, exposure, contrast, etc. It was difficult to cut myself out of my original picture as well.

Photoshop: Vacation
Time - Face

For our second Vacation Time project, we had to only photoshop our faces in another one of our favorite vacation destinations. I chose Hershey Park and put my face on a dad. The shadows were very different, however, and it did not turn out how I had originally hoped. I do still think it looks believable (to some people).

Photoshop: Art Ad

Our Photoshop Art Ads were a combination of a classical piece of art and a modern brand/product, designed to look like an advertisement for that product. For my product, I chose a Snickers bar. For my artwork, I chose the Arnolfini Portrait and tried to make it look like the man was being a diva (hence the slogan) and just needed a Snickers.

Photoshop: Clone Body

The Clone Body Photoshop project required us to take several photos of ourselves in the same room/space, then edit them to look like there were multiple of us. I did not lasso each one of me, instead just chose to fade the background out. I again used Pixlr to edit this project.

Photoshop: Clone Face

For the Clone Face Photoshop project, I used a picture of the cast of High School Musical: The Musical: The Series on Disney Plus. I used 8 photos of my self, each twice. I had to rotate both the background photo and each face photo to get them all placed right. This project was one of my favorites on Pixlr!

Photoshop: 2-in-1 Movie Poster

Our last Photoshop project (my personal favorite) was the 2-in-1 Movie Poster. I combined the movies 'The Call of the Wild' and 'Wild Child' to create 'The Call of the Wild Child.' I had to edit Emma Roberts' character on the canoe and add her name under Harrison Ford in a similar font and style. I took pieces from the water and used them to cover the black 'Wild' and add the Wild Child movie logo over it.

IM2 Intro

My IM2 Intro video was my final project of my Sophomore year! Using the theme song to the Nick Jr. show 'Bubble Guppies,' I created an introduction video for our IM level. Becoming familiar with Adobe Premiere Pro again after COVID felt great and made me so excited for next year! I also had so much fun filming with my fellow in-person classmates again.
