IM1 Log Book Cover

My log book cover was my first project in Interactive Media. We had to include drawings and symbols that showed our interests and who we were as creative people. For example, I included Spider-Man's web-slinging hand/wrist because I love Spider-Man, specifically Tom Holland's portrayal of him.

Movie Box Cover: Carrie

My movie box cover had to depict a movie of my choice through a cover that was different from the original. I had to use my own ideas and themes from the classic horror movie "Carrie."  I chose this movie because it is iconic and you can find many details to create an all new cover. I used elements from the movie to show what it is about, such as the blood bucket and shower scenes.

Movie Box Cover: "Let Them Eat Earth Cake"

My second movie box cover was of my own original flip-book movie story. It is entitled "Let Them Eat Earth Cake," and is about aliens who come to Earth looking for treasure, but only leave with cake. I liked getting creative with the cover and using bright colors.

My personal logos (both the long logo and short logo) are used to add my own trademark onto my videos and projects. Logos are also used to avoid copyright issues and show that my videos or work were made by me. I tried recreating a text message, since I'm just always texting, and even included the "loved" symbol from iMessage and the peace sign emoji.

Flipbook Movie: Let Them Eat Earth Cake

This is my animated flip-book project, titled "Let Them Eat Earth Cake," following my movie box cover for it. I drew 108 frames that tell the story of an alien landing on Earth in search of valuables, only to desire cake from us humans. It was edited in Adobe Premiere Pro with sound effects, voiceovers, and green screen overlays.

IM1 Intros

My intro video for the IM1 students/freshmen used the theme song from the animated TV show "Total Drama Island" and introduces each one of us in our own unique way. I tried to recreate how the show's theme song flows from one character to another and avoids awkward cuts.

Audio-Video Mashup/Compilation

Using the song "Pretty Girl" by Clairo, I compiled many different covers and versions of this song to create a smooth transitioning compilation. I used piano tutorials, unique covers, and live performances and edited them together so that they switched from one to another on the same note or lyric. I also used new effects on Adobe Premiere Pro to make this video that I have never used before, such as the opening zoom-out and wiggle.

Audio-Video Mashup/Compilation 2

Audio Project 1 Kasey Watson
00:00 / 04:09

For my first audio project, I used seven songs (ranging from the "Austin and Ally" theme song to Post Malone's "Staring at the Sun") to create one smooth track that switched from song to song on the same word. For example, I used the word 'history' in the songs "All Night" by R5 and "History" by One Direction to transition over. This was difficult, but still fun and helped me get a better feel for Adobe Audition.

Word-Definition Video

I chose the word 'Bombilation' for my Word-Definition Video. I included the part of speech, definition, and used it in a sentence before the actual footage. The scene is of two friends trying to decipher where the "bombilation" is coming from, before their friend pops up from behind them and admits to making that "bombilation."

For my second Audio-Video Compilation, I used the song "I Think I Kinda, You Know" by Olivia Rodrigo from the Disney+ series "High School Musical: The Musical: The Series." The opening to my video is inspired by the opening theme of the series as well. Olivia Rodrigo's track is played over several covers and versions of the song. I had to line up her words to the other singers' mouths and had to sometimes line up her music to other instruments.

Audio Project 2Kasey Watson
00:00 / 01:58

For my second audio project, I used the song "I'm Still Standing" by Elton John. I took several versions, covers, performances, and acoustic tracks of the song to blend them together into one. The goal was to make it flow and sound strong, although I had trouble doing so.

Covid-19 Parody Music Video

In my Covid-19 music video, I used the song "In Quarantine," a parody of "Under the Sea" from "The Little Mermaid." I tried to get as creative as possible from home, using my iPhone to film and Videostar to edit. I utilized overlays and effects to help make my video more fun and interesting since it was mostly just me lip-syncing around my house.

How to Stay Sane & Have Fun during Coronavirus

In my final video project of my freshmen year, I gave four methods of how to both have fun and stay sane in these Covid-19 times. I used both iMovie and Videostar to edit. iMovie was used to overlap my voice and background music to create one audio. I put that one audio into Videostar to edit my video. There were many screen recordings from my phone, but what more is there to do besides stare at a screen all day, right?
